- Prior of the Monastery of Santa Cruz, Coimbra, between 1349 and 1377. This was a prestigious office in a monastery with a church where Afonso Henriques and Sancho I, the two first Portuguese monarchs are buried. It was also one of the main educational centers in Portugal, with a well-endowed library and a scriptorium, where the monks produced a large number of manuscripts and copies.
- Witnessed the ceremony in Coimbra where the Bishop of Guarda testified that he had married King Pedro of Portugal, while still a prince, to Dona Inês de Castro. [Pedro, ch.28: 41-42]
